Since starting my first toe-up sock, I learned a few things.
1. I made a terrible mistake in resisting toe-up socks for all these years! (Hopefully I won’t regret that statement when it comes time to knit a heel.)
2. Knitting on two circular needles is also fantastic. These are the Kollage square needles (size 2.5, one 16” the other 24”) with the soft cable. They are very different from the other circular needles I have, and kind of hard to describe. The 16” version’s needle is just a tad shorter than I’d like it, but otherwise they are nice.
3. I don’t knit to just knit anymore. If I’m knitting something, I want to be designing something. And this yarn stumped me, just because it looks so incredibly good in stockinette that any sort of texture or pattern that I tried adding to it made it look worse. I’ve already given up on it and will move on to a different yarn soon enough. As soon as I need some mindless knitting though, I know just where to turn.
