Schweeeet! Dave Cole: The Knitting Machine, 2005
What a perfect Throwback! We loved this piece by Dave Cole.
Holy fuck.
I’d have done the backwards-loop cast on for this because that seems like it would have been so much easier.

EZ writes the only knitting books I’ll ever need.
I’m terribly tempted to knit these tights.

Someday when I’m no longer in school I’m going to do this and make awesome things.
Me too. Though my optimism in my abilities to make something this awesome is not quite there.

I’m finding sustainable fashion really inspiring lately. I found this resource today on re-knitting, and am looking forward to extending it beyond knitwear.

It just so happened that every picture that turned out well had been of only one side of the sock, so that the pattern ends up being symmetric was a surprise. That’s something I can fix.
The sock pattern is now out of my hands for the time being, as it has been sent to two complete strangers who are going to look at it and give me some feedback tell me how great it is and that I don’t need to change anything about it.

This looks like it would be a great thing to do with t-shirt yarn.

I realized that I’ve never shared any photos of this project. And I won’t even be sharing a good view of the overall piece today.
“Dichotomy” is only the second shawl that I’ve knit, and it ended up a bit more asymmetrical than the pattern intended due to my half-assed attempt at blocking (not that you can see that in the picture anyway). The yarn is fantastic, though, Manos Maxima in a pink that just shouts at you. I’ve got a different colorway in green that is begging to become a cowl, so there’s something else to look forward to.
